what is grain of salt?
grain of salt is a reading event series created by alexis and kai, a married lesbian couple based in la. our main event is somewhere between a book club and a supper club, a natural progression of a book club that started in our home. it began as a way to bring people together, over shared interests and values, and then evolved into a unique culinary experience.

alexis, the reader half of grain of salt, is an avid reader with a deep and personal commitment to supporting the art of reading. with a professional event production and marketing background, she is the host and the operations behind our project.
kai is a life-long angeleno and personal chef with professional digital communications experience. they have organized pop-ups, dinners/events, retreats, and co-founded la cookbook club. they are behind grain of salt’s creative design, and food + bev experiences.
