what is grain of salt?
grain of salt is a project created by alexis and kai, a married lesbian couple based in la. the leading event series is somewhere between a book club and a supper club, and the natural progression of a book club that started in our living room.
alexis being an avid reader and kai being a personal chef, they created a small but meaningful space where people read books and enjoy a meal/cocktails based off of the book of the month. as a married couple, and both having a background in events and marketing, this event series is both a passion project and an evolution.

alexis is an avid reader with professional event production and partnerships experience. she’s a lover of literary fiction, a self-proclaimed “weird girl,” and she founded a lesbian book club in la.
kai is a life-long angeleno and personal chef with professional digital communications experience. they have done pop-ups, dinners/events, retreats, and co-founded la cookbook club. basically, food is their life.
