Grain of Salt is a small team, founded by a married lesbian couple looking to bring people together through literature and food.

We are lucky to work with some of the best purveyors and partners to bring the highest quality ingredients and goods to you. Being a small business, we put a lot of care into the intention and integrity of this event series, and hope you are able to feel the love and care we put into it.

As a team of two, we are only able to offer limited accommodations, and hope to provide more options in the future.

We appreciate each and every person who attends our events, and we couldn’t do it without our friends and attendees.

Please note that all of our events are either 18+ or 21+, unless otherwise stated.

  • SUPPER CLUB: During the 8 hours of our event, attendees read an entire book through a mixture of out-loud readings, independent readings, and group discussion. Our book choices are on the shorter side, offering ample time to finish within the event time. We schedule breaks, lunch, and dinner service to ensure time to rest and socialize, with options to go at your own pace or join in with others.

    SIP AND READ: Our sip and read events are a few hours long, designed to relax, read, and meet new friends. These events are different than our flagship event, and do not offer full meals.

  • SUPPER CLUB: Absolutely no refunds within (14) days of the event. We pre-order food/bev/etc. in advance and cannot accommodate for cancellations at this time. Tickets are available to be transferred at any point at your discretion.

    RELEASE PARTIES: Absolutely no refunds within (7) days of the event. We pre-order books, food/bev/etc. in advance and cannot accommodate for cancellations at this time. Tickets are available to be transferred at any point at your discretion.

    SIP AND READ: Refunds are available within (7) days of the event. Please reach out to us at hello@grainofsalt.la to process your refund. Tickets are transferrable at your responsibility.

    By purchasing a ticket, you represent and warrant that you are authorized to use the payment method provided. Purchases made using another person's payment method without their authorization may result in cancellation of the order, denial of entry, refusal of future ticket purchases, and other appropriate action.

  • Dietary and beverage selections can be changed up to 14 days before the event.

    We are working with the very best local and imported goods, ordering weeks (or more) in advance— we only account for the selections made by each attendee, making it difficult or not possible to accommodate for changes later on.

    At this time, we do not offer gluten-free options.

  • If you missed out on tickets, you can still join our waitlist by selecting the event on grainofsalt.la/attend and entering your email address. You will be notified first if more tickets become available.

  • At this time, we DO NOT offer gluten-free options! We hope to offer this in the future.

  • If you have any food alergies, please reach out to us at hello@grainofsalt.laprior to purchasing a ticket to see if we are able to accommodate. Sadly, we are not able to offer gluten-free options at this time.

  • We do not offer discounted or free tickets in exchange for coverage.

  • We reserve the right to refuse or cancel ticket purchases and deny admission or future attendance at our events at our sole discretion, including but not limited to instances involving fraudulent activity, chargebacks, unauthorized payment methods, violations of our event policies, disruptive behavior, or any conduct that may negatively impact our events, attendees, or business. If a ticket purchase is canceled before an event, a refund may be issued at our discretion unless otherwise prohibited by law.
